The English Premier League side have reportedly dropped their interest in Ajax star Hakim Ziyech despite the player’s wish in joining the Gunners.
In 2017, the winger had revealed his dream to play for Arsenal or Barcelona in an interview, and it almost looked realistic this summer with Unai Emery eying up a move for the £25m-rated Moroccan who wants to leave Amsterdam this summer.
But newest report from BBC Sport claims the English club have now ended their interest in Ziyech as they press focus on other targets.
Emery is keen to add strength in the wide positions but have opted out of the move
for Wilfried Zaha and Ryan Fraser after detailed analysis as he works on a tight budget.
Marc Overmars, former Arsenal player and current Ajax sporting director recently admitted Ziyech could leave the club this summer if his £25m release clause is activated.
Manchester United have also shown interest in him after his impressive 21 goals and 24 assists last season.
But it looks like move to England will not materialize, with Arsenal targeting other wide men except Emery is handed an increased transfer budget.
