Oliver Torres has revealed what former Spain and Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas told him about moving back to Spain with Sevilla and the opportunities.
Torres has signed a five-year deal at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan from Porto and was presented alongside fellow signings Sergio Reguilon and Lucas Ocampos.
Torres on arrival now has the chance to work under Julen Lopetegui again after they spent time together at Porto.
“I’ve been lucky to spend great moments of my life with Julen, and coming to LaLiga Santander with him at Sevilla is a [great] opportunity and a proud [moment],” Torres said.
“We know the demands of this club and we’re pawns that have to do everything possible so that everything goes well.
“When you have a coach that knows your abilities, this is important. Other than that, it’s a proud [moment] and a privilege when Sevilla call you.
“When they told me about Sevilla’s interest, I didn’t think twice [about joining].”
Torres becomes Monchi’s eighth signing of the summer at Sevilla.
“Monchi is the Messi of transfers,” the player said.
“It takes time, lots of comings and goings, [before] we came to an agreement between all parties and luckily it all went through in the best way possible.”
