Ex-Barcelona President, Joan Laporta, has said the club will no longer sign Atletico Madrid star,Antoine Griezman claiming that he played down the move when the club contacted him last year.
Griezman had initiated talks with Barcelona to move to Camp Nou last year only to later come up with a dramatic u-turn, airing his intention to remain with Atletico Madrid during an infamous video reveal.
Because of that, Barca retaining an interest in the 28-year-old has rumbled on from that point, with another approach mooted for 2019, but Laporta believes a loyal fan base have moved on.
”They will decide what they think is best, but I think that most of the fans don’t want him.
”This is mostly because of the price being quoted, I think it’s inflated, there are other players with great potential who can play Griezmann’s position.
”People have to want to come to Barcelona, he’s a great player but he had the opportunity last year and didn’t take advantage of it, he played games with Barcelona, Laporta said
