Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has been exonerated of all charges of rape and assault after Sao Paulo police investigation proved no evidence suits the accusation as alleged, Brazil-based media outlet Globo reports.
Model Najila de Souza had accused the Brazil international but Juliana Lopes Bussacos, head of the 6th Women’s Police Station, concluded on Monday afternoon that the evidence was not sufficient for indictment.
The report adds that “prosecutors of the Special Action Group to Combat Domestic Violence (Gevid) may file a complaint (formal prosecution), request the filing of the inquiry or further action. The prosecutor has 15 days to speak.”
The delegate requested access to the security camera footage of the hotel in Paris, where the alleged crimes were said to have occurred, and the medical record of Najila’s private gynecologist.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office asked for copies of the extortion inquiries, the alleged theft in Najila’s apartment and the disclosure of intimate images of the woman, in Rio de Janeiro.
