Manchester United has been dealt a big blow after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Eric Bailly will be out of games in the next five months following knee surgery.
Solskjaer revealed the extent of Bailly’s injury after Juan Mata’s late penalty which gave United a 1-0 win over Kristiansund.
Bailly picked up the injury in United’s 2-1 win over Tottenham in their pre-season meeting in Shanghai last week.
The 25-year-old suffered a similar injury in his right knee last season, which ruled him out for a similar length of time, and his injury jinx has struck again, with the centre-half potentially out for the rest of the year.
However, news regarding Bailly will only intensify the speculation regarding United’s interest in Leicester defender Harry Maguire.
