Liverpool have completed a free transfer move for former West Ham goalkeeper, Adrian to replace Simon Mignolet who departed Andfield earlier today.
The 32-year-old Spaniard was released by the Hammers this summer after six years at the club and is brought in as understudy to Alisson.
Adrian spent most of his early career with Real Betis in his native Andalusia before sealing a switch to West Ham in 2013.
He went on to make 150 appearances during his time in east London, and Liverpool are close to finalising his move to Merseyside.
Adrian had been scheduled to have talks with Real Valladolid about a return to Spain but the lure of an offer from Anfield was too good to resist.
On joining the Champions League winners, the 32-year-old said he’s has arrived to compete for everything.
“I’m feeling really happy; really happy to be here and to work in this great club and start doing my stuff on the pitch as soon as possible,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I’m very ambitious, I come here to try to win everything, to try to push Ali from the first minute and to make us better.
“Obviously I want to win titles. I come here to fight for all the competitions. We have many competitions ahead – we’re going to fight for it and try to get them.
“I’m looking forward to playing my first game at Anfield and to win as many games as we can.”
