TRANSFER TALK: Man Utd ceases negotiations on Eriksen

Man United suspends transfer talk over Eriksen

Manchester United have suspended transfer talks with Tottenham in a bid to bring Christian Eriksen to Old Trafford as they believe the Champions League finalists midfielder has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, Sky Sports News reports.

The Red devils were considering a late move for the 27-year-old before the transfer deadline arrives.

Eriksen has just one year remaining on his contract, and Spurs are eager to cash in on him this summer and there had been talks with Real Madrid earlier in the window.

However, as a deal did not materialise at the time, after Real boss Zinedine Zidane indicated a preference to try and sign Paul Pogba instead, it’s believed he may again trigger a transfer talk as United still put Pogba in a hang on.

Denmark international Eriksen admitted earlier this summer that he “would like to try something new” – but also left the door open to sign a new Spurs deal if he stays.
