The Chelsea boss also spoke extensively ahead of his first Premier League game as a manager giving updates on players who sustained injuries.
Lampard was asked if he had spoken with the former club defender, David Luiz on his transfer to Emirate Stadium and he said;

“It’s a position that I have a lot of competition. Everyone has to understand that.
“He has moved on and we wish him the absolute best, because he has been a big part of our history.
“There wasn’t any strikes. No fall-outs, just honest conversations.
“As a player I want that as a manager, and I think I got that from David. Him not training was a decision I made as I felt that is what I made at the time.”
Asked if he is excited ahead of his first Premier League game as a manager.
“Yes. I have been excited from the first moment since the job was confirmed. But I want to make a success of it. I am excited. We had a good pre-season and we have to deliver.”
On being the youngest manager in the Premier League: “I haven’t thought about it. I know I am a young manager, but I just will give my best and here I am. I’m not fearful, I will concentrate on us and give my all.”
However, the manager also spoke on the injury condition of N’golo Kante and Callum Hudson-Odoi
“We have Kante fit, whether we have him match fit I’m not sure. Rudiger and Willian have been training, but possibly Sunday is too soon for him.”
“Nothing new on that. The important thing is that he is back training”, he said about Hudson-Odoi in the Chelsea team news.
