Hazard’s new shirt number had belonged to Mariano Diaz, who is still at the club, but he will now wear the No.24, despite rumours linking him with a move to Monaco.
Hazard, who signed for Madrid for 100 million euros from Chelsea in June, has worn the number ‘50’ over the course of the pre-season, in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
He will have his first taste of LaLiga football wearing the badge of Madrid next Saturday, as Zinedine Zidane’s side travel to Vigo to take on Celta.
Elsewhere, it was interesting to see that James Rodriguez has been awarded the No.16 shirt, having worn the No.10 before going on loan to Bayern Munich.
