Barcelona are ready to cash in on their midfielder, Ivan Rakitic this month with no firm opposition within the club, Diario AS says.
According to the latest report from Spain, boss Ernesto Valverde who has been a long-term admirer of the Croatian midfielder will come down to terms with the club should they decide to make cash on his signature.
Ivan Rakitic current deal at Camp Nou runs through until the summer of 2021 although Barca signed midfielders Arturo Vidal and Arthur Melo last year and have landed Frenkie De Jong from Ajax this summer.
This has left the Blaugrana with an overcrowded midfield and the Croatian international has not been selected in the starting line-up for either of the side’s opening La Liga matches this campaign.
However, Serie A giants, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly linked this summer with a move for the player, but the former captain of Seville had earlier played down any speculations with hope he will continue in the La Liga side.
Rakitic was quoted last month by Marca saying: “It’s a situation (the exit rumours) that I’m used to since I’m here, last year the same thing happened to me.
“I talked to the club and the Coach and the idea is the same, and my idea is to continue with Barça, I’m open, but my idea is very clear and my intention is to continue here and continue enjoying because being here because I have more years left on my contract.”
