Chelsea star,Marcos Alonso has hinted he may move away this summer amid speculations his former club, Real Madrid are showing interest in the 28-year-old.
Alonso has struggled for form under coach Maurizio Sarri since he signed new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge last October.
Spanish media has reported him to be linked with a return to Real, the club where he came through the youth ranks before signing for Bolton Wanderers in 2010.
And when asked by the Evening Standard if he was happy at Chelsea in light of Real’s interest,he said:
”I am very happy here but we will see what happens this summer.
”There is always talk [like this]. Is it a compliment? Yes. It means I’m doing well if other teams are trying to get in touch.
”But first of all I’m focusing on the final. I am very happy to have four more years here and hopefully I will stay many more years here.’
The 28-year-old wing-back was an important part of Antonio Conte’s Chelsea team that won the Premier League in 2016-17,
Sarri changing Chelsea’s formation to a 4-3-3 this season, has seen him deployed as an orthodox left-back.
And he was left on the bench for both legs of Chelsea’s Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt, with Emerson preferred instead.
”For me personally, the path changed. I started very well, then the manager wanted different things from me.
”After that I was trying to do what he wanted and then he told me he wanted to play like I was at the beginning of the season. So maybe that has conditioned a little bit the way of my game.
”Has the criticism from the fans affected me? No. Football is like this.’
