One identified 13-year-old girl, Khadijat Mutaka, was abducted by bandits on Sunday in Katsina State’s Kurfi Local Government Area.
Eyewitnesses said one Ibrahim Yar-Garshe, 30, was also shot and wounded by the bandits during the attack. questions
Intelligence gathered revealed that after scaling the nearby mountains, the bandits assaulted the Kurfi village at around 9 pm.
A security team consisting of Operation Puff Adder allegedly confronted the robbers, who later fled with the girl into the forest.
The incident was confirmed by the spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah.
He noted attempts were being made to save Mutaka, though the wounded man had been taken to a hospital already.
Isah said, “The hoodlums kidnapped a thirteen-year-old girl and shot one Ibrahim Yar-Garshe on his leg. The security team including Operation Puff Adder and that of Operation Sharan-Daji are already making efforts to rescue the girl. Ibrahim is also receiving treatment in a hospital.”
