Karim Benzema helped struggling Real Madrid to secure a 1-1 draw against Leganes on Monday night at the Estadio de Butarque.
Zinedine Zidane’s side has dropped points twice in a row in a 1-1 draw at Leganes after Jonathan Silva opened a score line for the host in 45th minute before a blow of the break whistle.
Not for Karim Benzema fight back goal six minute in to the second half to spare the Los Blancos from a defeat, it would have been another blow from the southern part of the city
Bale was not part of manager Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI, thus adding to the speculation that the Welshman will depart the Spanish capital this summer. Sergio Ramos and Toni Kroos also missed due to injury, meaning Nacho and Fede Valverde each got the nod.
Some nice linking between Isco and Marco Asensio ended with the latter shooting right at Leganes stopper Pichu Cuellar. Leganes managed to craft a chance of their own, with Siovas serving up a ball for Braithwaite, who headed just wide with Nacho closing in.
The host continued to settled into their defensive shape forcing Real out wide on the wings, taking away any direct play into Benzema.
Apart from the Isco free-kick that curled well over the crossbar, the Real attack mustered very little chances.
Bothe sides fancied a winner in the final half-hour and Real almost got it through Asensio, whose shot was blocked by Cuellar after a nice lead pass from Benzema.
Zidane’s men had no choice than sharing points to stay four points behind second-place Atletico Madrid in the Laliga table.
