The actress of Nollywood had taken her Instagram account on Friday to reveal that she is now the “proud Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) Ambassador for Peace Building.”
She also urged her followers to pray for her as she embarked on peace building across the six geopolitical zones of the country, because peace is indispensable.
However, the news produced reactions from Nigerians on social media who were of the opinion that the controversial actress was not the right person to hold a role because of her lifestyle.
Reacting, the NCPC did not accept the appointment in a statement released on Friday.
The sentence read as follows:
“The Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission NCPC wishes to state that King Tonto Dikeh paid an official courtesy visit to the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Executive Secretary Rev Yakubu Pam on 25 February 2021 at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
“As the founder of the Tonto Dikeh Foundation, she shared her commitment and interest to work with the Commission in the field of peace building.
“She also paid tribute on the visit to laud the NCPC chief for his constructive and unwavering peace efforts across the world.
“However, we are suddenly bewildered by the claims of the actress that she has been officially appointed Ambassador of Peace to this great Commission. In the media, this assertion has gone viral.
“The Commission scoffs at this argument, which is a simple misinterpretation of what has happened, and wishes to state that it is false evidence.
