Former United captain, Gary Neville says Liverpool needs three points ahead seconders Manchester City before entering their final five league games to secure title.
The Reds after their 3-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday has three points above the defending Champions.
Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to move seven points clear of City at the top and allowed Pep Guardiola’s men to close the gap from five to three following their lacklustre back-to-back draws against Leicester City and West Ham.
And Gary Neville believes Liverpool must remain ahead going into the final five fixtures because of Pep’s way of winning games.
“I said a few months ago that if Liverpool are to win the title then they need to have a lead going into the final few games of the season”.
“If they are three or four points ahead with three to five games left then they have a really good chance”.
“However, if they are behind City or even level then I think it will be City’s title, as they have the experience of holding their nerve,” Gary Neville said to sky sport
