At the Government Girls Secondary School in Zamfara State today, terrorists hit and kidnapped about 300 schoolgirls.
The most recent abduction at the girls’ school in Jangebe, Talatu Mafara LGA, occurred about 2 a.m. today. With the number of kidnapped students said to be close to 300, a teacher at the school reported the attack on BBC Hausa.
It is worth noting that the latest assault on the Zamara school took place about two weeks after more than 20 students were kidnapped by armed bandits from a school in the state of Niger. At the time of this study, the students in Niger have yet to be published.
The incident is also the fourth high-profile school kidnapping since Muhammadu Buhari became Nigeria’s president in 2015.
