A Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, has reported a confirmation of Iker Casillas retirement due to heart attack by Porto president, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa.
According to the newspaper O Jogo, da Costa says Casillas will retire but he will stay working in management at Porto.
Iker Casillas spent 16 years at Real Madrid before joining Porto in the summer of 2015 on a free transfer and has made 31 league appearances for FC Porto this season.
His new contract with the Portuguese giants runs until June 2020, with an optional second year.
However,Porto team doctor Nelson Pulga has said it is too early to make an assessment on whether the veteran goalkeeper would return to play or not.
