Real Madrid’s new recruit, Rodrygo has said moving to the club is a great motivation as he promised to prove his worth at Los Blancos with help from his compatriot Vinicius.
“Going to Real Madrid motivates me, as they are one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he told Santos TV.
“Because of their greatness that can scare you, but that fear is good as it motivates me more and it forces me to show why they believed in and signed me.
“It helps me a lot to know that Vinicius is there, a boy practically my age, as he’s only a year older than me.
“He already has the experience of having played one year there and I think he will help me a lot.
“That’s very important, as well as having the other Brazilians.
“That is always good because the language isn’t so difficult to understand, but having others beside you who speak your language is important and will help me a lot in my adaptation process.”
The 18-year-old has claimed that he doesn’t feel any pressure from those fans who label him as the next Romario.
“I have always been focused on what I was doing, training at all times, evolving and moving forward so that when the time came my time would come,” he said.
“When I arrived, I was ready and I never experienced all that as pressure, even when the fans said that I’m going to be the next Romario.
“At the age of nine, I already played with boys aged 11 and I stood out.
“I went through all the youth ranks with the exception of the U20s, where I just played one game,Rodrygo added.
