Arsenal play-maker, Mesut Ozil has expressed excitement and confidence to return to the Arsenal starting XI this weekend.
Ozil has not been featured after he made a poor start on December 26 where he was dust off in half-time.
He has since then been out of Arsenal’s last four campaigns under Unai Emery citing tactical reasons for his decision to leave him behind.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea, Ozil has made clear he is available for selection.
In a post of himself from training on his social media accounts, Ozil wrote: “Another week of full team training done.
“Feeling good & confident.”
It remains to be seen whether Emery will select Ozil in his team at the weekend.
Emery during his pre-match press conference said “I like to create the same spirit for all, and that spirit is every players gets and gives consistent work and moments with their performances but it’s not easy.
“Sometimes you are better and sometimes you are worse. I’m working with every player in the same way. The most important thing for me is how he can help us and how every player can help us with their consistency.”
When it was suggested Ozil could leave in January, Emery said: “I’m not thinking about that.
“I’m thinking about how he can help us this year with good performances.
“He’s had injuries and not been okay to play matches, but now after these two weeks maybe this Saturday will be okay for him.”
