The Morocco parliament has approved a law legalizing the production of cannabis in the country for medicinal and industrial purposes.

The goal of the initiative is to enter the global market and develop agriculture and create jobs in rural areas.

Morocco is one of the largest producers of cannabis for illicit use, as well as for recreation.

Last year, Rwanda authorized the production and processing of cannabis with the aim of maximizing its profits.

The Rwandan government has reiterated that its supply and use will be limited to licensed dealers such as pharmacies and that cannabis consumption will continue to be illegal.

In South Africa, the government is still working on plans to ensure the country can grow from a plant by turning marijuana into a viable business.
