Nigerians would not be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Federal Government.
Olorunnimbe Mamora, Minister of State for Health, revealed this during a chat on Arise TV yesterday.
”Nothing would be forced upon you. It’s an option. It’s all up to you. He said that “no one will be required to take any vaccine.”
Asked if it might become mandatory later, Mamora said, “If that happens, it would not be a decision of Nigeria.”
According to him, just like Yellow Card certificate, countries might have to start demanding a COVID-19 vaccination certificate before allowing outsiders in.
Nigeria may be affected by countries’ demands for vaccination certificates, he said, adding that “it may just be something that will become global.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria has stated that Nigerians who have acquired COVID-19 vaccines outside of the country must be screened upon their return to the country.
