Real Madrid rejects Navas free move request

Keylor Navas

Real Madrid goalkeeper,Keylor Navas have been told he can not leave the club on anything less than £18m this summer after he asked for a free agent transfer.

Spanish newspaper AS reports that the Costa Rican wants to leave Bernabeu on a free fee after he was told Thibaut Courtois will be Zinedine Zidane’s No 1 next season.

Navas according to the report, does not only want a move but he is also demanding the final two years of his contract  worth around £9m paid up in full in order to move on this summer.

But that’s contrary to Real’s direction as they are planning on raising funds for their own summer spending spree.

The club has already spent big on Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao and Rodrygo, with France defender Ferland Mendy also set to join.

And with Zidane also eyeing a move for Paul Pogba or Christian Eriksen, Real are under pressure to sell a number of stars before the transfer window closes.

Navas is wanted by PSG after allowing Gianluigi Buffon to depart, but his £18 price-tag is an issue.

The French giants would be willing to meet the former Levante stopper’s salary demands of around £6.2m a season.
