Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday got a 23-month prison sentence tax fraud case.
Ronaldo who missed a second-half penalty kick during his side’s 3-0 victory over Chievo in the Serie A encounter on Monday night was convicted of evading payment of tax on image rights worth over £12m during his time at Real Madrid between 2011 and 2014.
According to Metro UK reports, Ronaldo pleaded guilty to avoid any jail time and is expected to pay around £16.5m to the court.
He arrived at the courthouse through the main entrance with his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez.
Meanwhile Portuguese captain was denied special treatment by the judge, having requested to appear by video or enter the building by car.
The 33-year-old acknowledged his guilt and left court within a matter of minutes.
Ronaldo will hope to lead Juventus to victory when they tackle Lazio on Sunday.
