Transfer: Seagulls ready to make Adam Webster their most expensive signing

Adam WebsterBrighton and Hove Albion are preparing £25m to sign Bristol City defender, Adam Webster also wanted by newly promoted Premier League side, Aston Villa.

Centre-back seen as a replacement for Lewis Dunk was earlier on Aston Villa’s want list, but Dean Smith looked elsewhere after being reluctant to pay for his worth.

Smith brought in Bjorn Engels, Ezri Konsa and confirmed the permanent additions of Tyrone Mings and Kortney Hause, all of whom along with James Chester will be battling for a place in the claret and blue back-line.
